hi all i have had my amazing dress from the bay delivered today copy of essence of australia d1119 and i absolutely love it pics in album, only prob is the lacing on the corset is too short to do all the way to the bottom! im guessing its down to the fact i have dd cups and the dress is size 12 which is usually only 38inch bust max :-( i brought it new with tags for £60 off a lady who is pregnant and now cant wear it (she may even be on here lol) so cant ask to have new ones sent any ideas where i can get replacements? i want them really long this time may even get black to tie in with my theme, ive googled and can only find ribbon or cotton strings :-( any help or ideas would be amazing help xx

I've been looking for some blue ties for my theme but they are nigh on impossible to find! I have however seen a corset kit thing on ebay, I think it comes with other stuff to change a zip up to corset or something but they come with black ties! I'll see if I can find it!

I just did a quick search for 'replacement corset ribbon uk' and a fairy goth site came up top, have ribbons for about £3.50 or cord lacing (more for full on corsets) at £9.

Would a good fabric shop maybe have something? Or speak to a seamstress/bridal shop.
thanks for the link legobride that should do the job if i cant find anything else ive saved it. i looked at the fairy goth mother looks like just ribbon doesnt it? maybe they would sell really thick good quality ribbons in fabric shops would that work? i cant decide if i should get black lacing to go in with my theme or not. do you think it would look silly? thanks for ideas xo

Lacing for dresses is just really good quality ribbon, check out the shops to see if there is anything that might work

My dress corset lacing is made of the fabric my dress is made of. The same seller has white and ivory lacing too, but it is a bit expensive! I'd be worried ribbon wouldn't be strong enough.

Try looking for a local dress maker, They'll be able to help you find somewhere to get them. Or might even be able to make one for you x

satin ribbon will slip open as the day goes on so if you are going to go down the ribbon route make sure it has a matt side to it so it doesn't un knot itself

Thanks for the help I'm waiting on a reply from Ann I've asked for black and white laces thought I'd try both and see which looks better I really do want that bit of colour thou I think fingers crossed she can do it as I've only tried dress on with half lacing done and oh pulling the rest together. He said the dress is really nice yay x

sorted it now for a massive £5 for 1 white and 1 black plus p&p from ann shes so good im really happy ive ordered the lacing twice as long as the old one so will def fit. now i cant wait to try on my dress excited thanks for the help xx
