They can pencil you in a date if it's over 12 months away but it won't be confirmed then (although that date and time are yours) then you go back as soon as you can once you've passed the 12 month point and have an interview each to check it's not a sham marriage and you pay about £75 for the legal bit- the notices which are put up somewhere. Ours have us a handbook of all details and stuff and we need to see them in the next couple of weeks for details etc... Hope that helps xx

I rang up and they gave me times available, I checked in with h2b to see what time would suit us, called them back and they penciled us in for our time and date. They told me when to give notice, in Edinburgh getting married in London though. I find it hard to write emails I always prefer to ring up. Just write a basic email asking if they have your date free and which times are available.

I had to write a letter to my registry office this is the main body of what I wrote
I am writing to request a Registrar to marry myself and Mr Alan L at R Hall Hotel, Rhu G84 8NF. On Saturday 15th August 2015. The time we would like to be married is 2pm. I have enclosed a cheque for £186.45 as advised by Elaine for the fee and travel expenses.
Hope this helps a bit
After 7 years and 11 months he proposed to me 18.10.13
Our son is 5 years old and our world
Getting married 15.08.15.
Life hasnt been easy but we have each other :)
I would probably call them myself, as I find it easier and you get a quicker response. Just say that you are getting married on x date and are calling to find out if that date is available, and if so what times they have.

I emailed mine and was told I couldn't book until 12 months in advance so waiting until 25th April I guess maybe it differs to where you live
