me and h2b have been talking about chinese lanterns, i can get them in our colours to tie in with everything else they are 100% biodegradeable too and only £15 for 20 we were thinking of releasing them on the night time after he has his fireworks( thats if he has them lol) but just wondering is this a nice touch or abit cheesy we released a load for my dad on the night of his funeral and it looked amazing watching them float as if we were releasing him up to heaven but just not sure if every1 will be into it on the night of our wedding xx

    31st August 2013 I became Mrs Carrick

they are 100% biodegradeable higgins hun this way they wont harm animals or stuff as ive read loads about it recently and its shocking to think that once they land its killing small animals like hedgehogs and stuff because of the wire on them xx

i've been thinking about them for cyprus, as we're not really going to have any special touches over there. chinese lanterns are light and don't take up a lot of space in the suitcase!!

also, you can decorate them too :)

I don't think it cheesy. I want to realise them too. When we first got engaged I wanted to do it with people putting good luck messages on but my nan passed away almost 2 years ago and now I want to do it for the family to write a special message on for her. Also what makes me like that idea more as when she passed my daughter was 3 1/2 and we had to explain to her where she had gone, so we let one off and said how that's gone up in the sky to heaven an that's where nanny has gone. She then said how nanny was in the lantern and it took her to heaven.

I think lanterns are a lovely idea and would love to have them! But unfortunately I cant as my venue wont allow it incase they get caught in any of the trees and set them on fire! So although I would say go for it I would check that your venue will allow it first hun xx

I think you need to check as I'm sure I've heard that they can be a hazard to passing planes as they're a distraction?

Mine also allows firework displays but their argument was that the fireworks dont go off until they are already in the sky, whereas lanterns are alight all the way from the ground to the sky! I was gutted when they said I couldn't have them :( xxx
