ebay have great dresses for cheap. If you can't afford them, then try ex-catalogue shops.
BBQ sounds fun.. and original :)
Ask family to all chip in with catering, invites ect.. making them i mean.. (it saves you stress and time)
We all helped my sister with catering, that kept it cheap for her,
keeping it small means invites can just be paper invites from the local card shop... people are only gunna chuck them out or put them in a drawer after anyway...
that's all i can think, but hope this helps :) x

Carolanne shame you live all the way up in Yorkshire, I'd bake your cake, it's fun! Lol.
Totally agree with the ebay argument though, I have found all the little things there and spent virtually nothing!

i have made all of my own centrepieces, invites etc. we're having individual cheesecake love hearts for the dessert and just a simple cake to cut. you can buy a cake from a supermarket and then just get it decorated - its much chaeper!!! a bbq sounds lovely too. you could decorate the garden with candles and lanterns it will look fab in the evening. You can just use an i pod and speakers for your music. I've found an amature photographer who is traind but not doing it for a living. have seen her portfolios and her pics are fab. She is only charging £300 we get a disc of the photos then i'm going to order prints online as you get a lot for free when you join new sites.

    Our budget is £1000.
Were having a registry office ceremony then off to a local room for a small close reception with only 20 guests.

I've made my own save the date cards and flowers.
Matt's suit was £50 from M&S (Gorgeous suit...couldn't believe the price)
Shoes for me £7.00 EBAY... that place is amazing.. Ive also got all our decorations from there.
Invitations pre pack again from ebay for £1.98
Reception is free all we have to do is pay for the food which can range from £5 - £10 per head
Registry office comes up to £103.50 (this includes the intent to marry :D)
Dress £179 (custom made) from a lady that was recommended by many from this site
    Cake from M&S £25
Favour bags and contents for all guests £14.00 (Everything from ebay) (This includes silver mesh bag, wedding party popper, confetti, love heart sweets and personalised scroll)

I'd shop around as much as possible... you will be surprised just how cheap you can get things if you look around properly.
Mine is a very strict budget and can't go over what so ever.. what we don't have we can't have lol :D
I can help as much as needed.. and would love to share money saving tips.
Good luck and congrats :D xx

if you can look at mid week as that tends to be cheaper. ebay definitely great place to look! M&S do some cakes at good prices as well if you're not up to making them yourself. Flowers maybe look at silk ones or having a wrist corsage maybe? x
