Hi guys I was wondering about what you think of this - my H2B lost his only brother 15 years ago when he was 16 and his brother was 24. He has a group of friends but says he couldn't choose one particular best friend and he's thinking of asking his dad to be his best man. I know this is not the norm, do you guys think this is ok to do so?

My H2b's Dad got married last year and had his two sons as best men so cant see why not x
i lost my dad 4 years ago so my brother is taking the "father of the bride" role lol x

im going to my cousins wedding in august and his father is best man. doesnt seem odd at all

im also part of a wedding in sept where the best man is the FOG (lol looks funny) i think its perfectly normal, the only problem we could see was the FOG couldnt be bothered organising the stag do and the stag himself is sooo laid back and unorganised it turned out to be a bit of a disaster but thats just them!!!! I have also been to a wedding where the best man was a woman, and they dressed her in the mans suit which i thought was ODD.

My h2b wanted to ask his Dad instead of his brother, he never sees his brother really and is much closer to his Dad. I said that it was a lovely idea and that he can have whoever he wants as the best man, I shall show him this thread later when he gets home!!!!! He didn't believe me, lol xx

he can have who ever he likes! i feel quite strongly about that as my jamie moved from scotland to liverpool 7 yeas ago. he had no one. mick is his best mate and has bee nthere the whole way. jamie wanted him, but his dad ordered him to ask his brother, who has since gotten engaged as well and not returned the favour. does my scone in!

i think its fine hun, my brother gets married on august 6th and my dad is his best man, all his best mates are ushers as he couldnt pick just one xxx
