RINGS!!! Don't forget your rings! I'm getting mine from the jewellery quarter in Birmingham. Its only £100 and its exactly what I want, so why pay more? H2B doesnt really want one because of his job, but has said he'll have a cheap one so its there.
Also paying an extra £100 to stay the night before as its over an hour from home.
Also, don't forget to factor in postage for invites. Depending on how many you have, it can add up to quite a lot with the price of stamps now!
So ours is going to be about £8,000 in total.

Lana, we saved a huge amount (£25 per head) on our venue just by telling them there were things we didnt want. We took off chair covers (I dont care what the chairs look like, and in a 4* hotel they are nice anyway!) we have a friend doing master of ceremonies so dont need one of them, changed the evening buffet to bacon sandwiches. That saved us a HUGE amount. £20ish a head for a buffet, £6 for bacon rolls! And people prefer them. Their package included name places and table plan, we're doing that.
Look at venue packages and never accept them at face value. Take off things you dont want. As our wedding is December, we've asked for mulled cider as a welcome drink instead of champagne or pimms and that's saved about £1.50 per person.

Hmmm, i havnt really set a budget. Although we will not be planning the small bits till January next year, so i guess we will sort it out then. This is a great thread to give a sort of average price for items. X
Venue: was about 4000, including 8 rooms for the night and exclusive use. Did not include meals though. Photographer and videographer: about 2000 for all the day. its expensive but we put most of our money on that to have permanent reminders of the day.

@lana - yes, I know- these figures on here are a bit all over the place.The budget is closer to £11,000. The total spend so far is £7460. If we max out on our budget, we should get close to £9800, but this won't be the case. We will have around £1200 or so left over, all being well :-)

This is just the kind of thread that I was looking for so I can see average costs; I've noticed that some haven't catered for food e.t.c though but didn't think of removing things that we didn't want or changing things :)

Venue - (Got it for nothing). £00.00 Ceremony inc. wedding certificate. £299.00 Intent to marry. £70.00 Photographer. £390.00 Transport. £200.00 Night before & after hotel. £150.00 Cake - mil can bake professionally. £00.00 Food + arrival drink. £600.00 ( having a buffet style wedding breakfast at 4pm so not having evening food) Bouncy castle hire. £300.00 Music. £600.00 Venue Accessories (I'm doing diy). £300.00 Invitations, save the date etc. £100.00 Flowers.(supermarket not florist). £12.00 Hair, nails, make-up. £170.00 Favours. £20.00 Rings (mum paying). £00.00 Dress. (Mum paying) £00.00 Groom & best man suit hire 75each. £150.00 Maid of honour dress & gift £70.00 Moth of bride gift and m.i.l gift 25 each. £50.00 Stag do hen do each pay our own, not From the budget. £00.00 Bridal underwear £100.00 Honeymoon ( asking for vouchers as our Gift list). £00.00 Total. £3601.00 We are having about 40 day guests and about 80 evening guest.

Flowers - £150 just for bouquets and thank you flowers for the mums Cake- £175 - 72 cupcake tower and cutting cake done by local baker Invites - £50 personalised day 20day and 40 night Ceremony -£ 800 for the room hire and reg fees Transport - £275 for one car Photographer - £320 a friends father is doing this for us Videographer? - £ my god father is a videographer and is doing for free Reception - £2800 for 47 day guests three course meal, drinks package and their eveing food + 60 additional evening guests Dj/ band - £320 for DJ Favours - £ - not having any but i am having a candy table which i am doing myself and costs approx £45 to do How many guests - 47 day time guests ( 4 children) 60 additional for the evening What day - midweek / weekend - were getting married on a Sunday which has saved us a fotune Other costs???
