OK so here is my question, how many ushers and bridemaids is everyone having?? So far i have 2 older bridesmaids, my little sister who is 14 and my flower girl who is 3, but my h2b wants his god daughter too who is 8. I really didnt want anymore as i feel it will look a bit messy coming down the aisle?? and if i did have her i would have to have her as another flower girl because she will be too young for the dresses i like. Also my h2b is having 5 ushers (this includes the best man, toastmaster), my dad will also be in the same suit but now my mum wants my younger brother to be in the same suit too as she thinks he will be left out. i do see where she is coming from but that will be SEVEN people in suits. I just feel that this is too many. we are having a fairly big wedding but i still feel this is too much. help please, i really dont want to upset anyone and i dont want my younger brother(16) to look back and think he was left out. argh what to do x

We are having 3 adult bridesmaids and one flower girl Best man and three ushers Father of the groom is wearing his own suit My brother who is giving me away Rob, my h2b
We have 6 suits to cater for. Most hire places if you shop around do deals where if you hire 4 or more suits (sometimes 5) they let the groom have his suit for free!
As for the number of bridesmaids you are having that isn't too many really as your numbers kinda balance out - plus you can have the 2 older bridesmaids paired as they walk down the aisle with the 3 little ones single file in front of you because then they can scatter petals or sit as you make your big entrance.
PS don't let other people tell you what to have on your big day - the wedding is about you and your h2b so if its not what you want you shouldn't be made to have it!

Do what you feel is right. If your mum wants him to wear hte suit too ask her if she is willing to pay for his hire or something. As for the little girl. Can you find another a little flower girl dress that you can afford. If you look on ebay buy one on there they are like 10pounds. She dont ven have to walk down in fronth of you she could already be in there with her mum and near the front so she is there but not in the way if that makes sence

My sister was in the same postion as my mum kept on adding to the list in the end there was 3 older bridesmaids and 7 flower girls and 7 ushers was a brill wedding but when she looks back now she wishes she had less as there were that many people coming down the aisle and all extra gifts she had to buy too!! i'm having 1maid of honour (my twin) and 2 bridesmaids and i'm not letting my mum change plans she wants all my brothers to be ushers but thats my partners decision as he wants his mates! so he's having his best man 2 ushers and our boys as page boys, hope this helps x

I have 3 older men in suits and 3 page boys in same suits, also have 2 bridesmaids and a MOH.
6 in same suits, and although his dad wasn't keen on being in a suit, he didn't want to look out of place either....
Good luck with the choosing and I think it's really about what you feel comfortable doing and what the budget will allow at the end of the day x

im not too worried about cost to be honest, my mum has already said she will pay for my dad and brothers suit,and iv seen flower girl dresses that are not expensive at all, im just thinking there is too many people.that will be 8 people in suits actually including my h2b. also my h2b's goddaughter also has a younger sister who i dont think will understand why she doesnt get to be a little princess too (she is 4, will be 5 when we get married). My problem is I try to please everyone, i have always been like this. its giving me a headache just thinking about it. I know what is important and that is me and my h2b and what we want, but my parents are contributing an awful lot that i dont want to seem ungrateful x

That's really difficult, we are mostly funding our own so although I've sounded the family out about things, ultimately my H2B and I have made all the decisions. I can sympathise with trying to please everyone though...
Just had a thought forgot my H2B in the suit count (oooppps) so thats 7 in suits for me...

We have 3 adult Bm then 3 younger ones -11,8,3 and 7 suited guys H2B,BM, both Dads and 3 Sons and I think thats ok. Totally understand your dilemma re the goddaughters younger sister but somewhere the line has to be drawn otherwise you could end up with half the guests dressed up. xx

I've got 5 adult bridesmaids, 2 junior bridesmaids and 3 flowergirls and also 1 best man, 8 ushers and 1 page boy.
We have suits for 13 people including my dads'.
I thought that this was too many but I wouldn't want to take anyone off coz it's all family or people who may as well be family. I think if we were having a small wedding it would be a bit silly but we have a lot of people in the day and then a hell of a lot more coming in the evening

actually loubyscooby you could be on to something, ill just tell everyone which dress/suit to wear (would be the same dress for everyone(i wont be paying though)) problem solved haha!! im thinking we may be able to get away with it, we have about 95 day guests and then also eve guests on top of that! good job i still have time to think about it.

I'm having 4 adult bridesmaids. My H2B is having best man and 2 ushers in the same suit. I think it can get over complicated for photos if you have too many people! But it depends on how big your wedding is, ours is quite a small affair :)

i am having 2 adult bm 1 flower girl and 1 pageboy. i upset a my sisters and my mum when choosing as i have 3 sisters but only wanted 2 bm and i really wanted my best friends to be bm aswell. in the end i am having my 2 best friends and said to be sisters that i am sorry but it would not be fair to have 2 sisters and not the other and i would never have been able to choose. I personally thought 5 bridesmaid and 1 flower girl was too much for my wedding as it is fairly small.
We are having 3 ushers, my brother and h2b 2 mates as he couldnt decide on which of 3 people to have as best man.
just rememeber that it is your wedding and do what you want not what everyone wants. i had to tell my mum and sisters that i am having it my way and i am sorry that i upset them but when my sisters are getting married they will understand how stressful everything is.
If your wedding is big then having more bm or ushers would look ok, just depends on what you want xx

I was going to just have my three children (1 bm,1fg, 1pb) but i really wanted my 3 nieces involved in the day but didnt know how other then bm's so now i have 3 bridesmaids 2 flowergirls and a paigeboy hehehe
There are no set rules on this stuff so have as many or as few as you like babe, ive seen a wedding where there was 12 bridesmaids, 12 ushers, 6 flowergirls and 6 paigeboys..................looked FANTASTIC but wouldnt like to pay that bill lol

We are having 3 ushers, best man and both dad's in suits, oh and page boy, so thats 7 in suits including H2B. Then Im having 2 adault BM's and 3 flower girls. I dont think there is a right or wrong amount, its personal choice at the end of the day.

my h2b's cousin and his wife had her 3 sisters,her niece and her hubby's sister as adult bm's, then had a junior bm and 2 flower girls so thats 8! then her hubby had his dad,fil,his 3 bros,and the best man in suits so thats another 6! everyones different tho,she says she felt pushed into asking her sisters to be bm's as her dad was paying for the wedding(or a big chunk of it!) and asked this as his one wish...but i'm just having two adults...my sis and my best mate, and my two eldest daugters as flower girls,with our youngest, who will be 18months when we get married, in the same flower girl dress but just gonna sit her with one of our parents as she'll be a little young to walk down the aisle x

i have 6 bridesmaids (4 sisters and two best friends) and David has opted for 2 best men and 2 ushers (one of which is his father and the other is the husband of one of the best friends). i did wonder to begin with about the amount of bridesmaids i was having but there was no way i could pick between my sisters and no way i was going to even consider not asking Charlotte and Becky but it's actually worked out fine to be honest.

ive got 3 adult bridesmaids and 2 junior bridesmaids/flower girls, then my other half wants his best man, 3 groomsmen, then we got his dad and step dad and my dad. hoping not to have to pay for our brothers suits too as we already have 8 suits to buy with out 2 more. i would rather have best man and moh walking down first then other two bms with one groomsman i dont think we should have the other two as we havent seen them in at least a year!! but he wants them as im having 3 bms he wants 3 groomsmen and a best man!! still got plenty of time to talk him out of it haha.

We are having 3 (maybe 4) bridesmaids In suits we have H2B, Best Man, FIL, my grandad (giving me away) 3 Ushers and 3 Page Boys = 10 (and for some reason his brother in law is wearing one too :-S) We only have 60 guests so I didnt want too many people in suits/bridesmaids incase it looked like we had no guests other than the bridal party.
When my aunty got married 4 years ago there was 8 bridesmaids and 8 page boys/ushers but she had a bigger wedding so it looked good xx
