Im having three bridemaids.....my two sisters and my partners sister. i have found some dresses for them but one of my sisters likes a different style to the other two....from the same range and the same colour but different style. she is also chief bridesmaid so do you think it would be ok for her to wear different or would it look odd??
CommentAuthorkimi1987
i thought chief bridesmaids/maid of honour wore a different dress so everyone knew she was chief bridesmaid/moh

There are no really strict rule on this anymore, if they are completely different shapes or personalities then different styles in the same colour works really well.
If only life could be one long tea break

If it's still the same colour then I think it will look fine. The chief bridesmaid/maid of honour normally has something different about them to make them stand out anyway xxx

As long as its the same colour there won't b a problem. I have a flower girl too and she is in a completely different dress to my bm's. Same colour but different style etc
Personally I prefer them to be all uniform and the same but that's just my personal preference (and my sister's). I have seen BM's in different dresses in the same colour and fabric and it can work xx

i just cant decide!! I do like the idea of everyone looking the same but at the same time think it would be nice for to stand out!!! planning a wedding is not enjoyable at all!!!!
CommentAuthorTeganandRob
I think having tha same colour will bring them together and the separate style will just highlight your chief. So I say go or it. Plis your chief will feel comfortable and happy.
CommentAuthorSam
Whatever you want to do, as others have said there really isn't a strict rule about this

Hi, i thin it depends on your wedding, if your having a posh glamourous wedding I would suggest thy we're all weakng the same, however bridesmaids in different dresses can look amazing especially in relaxed vintagey style weddings.

Definitely no strict rules :) I think it's important for them to feel happy with what they're wearing. Obviously the choice of dress and colour is yours, but if a small change like a slightly different style will make her feel more comfy then I think it's a good thing. I would be happy enough if my two BMs wanted different dresses in the same colour or the same dress in two different colours, long as they were colours I liked! ;)

Like others said no rule so it personal preference, i have said my BM can have same or different dresses what ever suits them and thy like the best (as long as i ok the dress first and it the colour i say lol).
Like others say most of the time CBM/MOH have different dresses anyway but again that personal preference x

my partner and I are having our daughters as bridesmaids and there is a 7 year age gap between them so my daughter has chosen her dress in a shorter length to Dave's daughter they are the same style and colour and they compliment each other. I think its personal choice but see not problem with t having different lengths :) x

Yeh it's totally up to you. I think you should take into account the set up? Are they all around the same age etc? If so, I think all of them in matching dresses, makes it look smarter/prettier/proper! xx

I have Moh, 1 x 13 year old BM, 1 x 11 year old BM and 3 year old flower girl and all there dresses are different. All in the colour scheme tho.
CommentAuthorObsidian_Winter
My MOH is in the same style with a different colour (pictures in my album) but really, like everyone else has said, it's up to personal preference.
CommentAuthorbiochrissy
you could have same colour different style, or go for the rainbow type thing where you have same style different colour. my adult bm's had same colour dresses in same style but one knee length and the other full length, my daughter who was also bm had her dress made in same ivory as my dress with a matching sash to the adult bm's dresses xx

i have 4 bridesmaids and a flower girl. The bridesmaids all have different styles but in the same colour and fabric.

this is a question we have been umming about. I have four bms - 13, 15, 16, 21. they are all the same sort of shape apart from the 21 year old!
However i don;t want the 21 year old in a diff dress as she is not the CBM - the 16 year old is and the 21 year old is OH's sister and i really dont get on with her!
we are thinking getting the dresses made - all the same with different straps!
