I am thinking of having a black wedding dress and I want one custom made. Anyone here had any experience?
I have trawled all the pages of the previous thread and shortlisted it to the one who cannot be named and a UK based website that used to be called MKM.
I don't want to cut costs and cheapen quality. I would happily pay up to £1k for my perfect dress, it's just I can't go to a bridal shop and pick it up in the colour and size I need! Grrrrrrrrrr!

Do they not have black wedding dresses in bridal shops? That might be a silly question but I've seen red wedding dresses so they may do other colours? Good luck finding your dream dress :)

There was someone on here that had a black dress with small pink roses in the train. I cannot remember who it was though. It was glorious.

Been to 3 so far. None had black but one did have red (Designer was Nicola Anne, dress called Diva) and I must admit I loved it and she is a UK based designer and I could have it in black but the price tag is £2k! I tried a black alexia bridesmaid dress on in one shop and it was nice but nothing compared to the bridal gowns.
The MKM people sent me a photograph of someone wearing a black dress they had made and they had pink roses too. Kathryn I think she was called, hubby looked to be wearing a Scottish type outfit!

Is it worth dyeing a white or ivory one? Just an idea if you're struggling x
if you want it custom made, i cant see there being a problem as you would just need the material to be black, all you'd need is to find a suitable dress maker!
failing that, im sure any decent bridal boutique would be able to order one in from somewhere?
Probably sounds really obvious, and im sure you ahve already done this - but have you tried googling gothic brides?

Thanks for your replies ladies, I have done a lot of googling. I'm really fussy and plus size so quite specific what I want. I just spent hours on Pizap creating a dress from 2 existing dresses and have sent it to MKM to see if they can custom make it for me as the feedback about that site is great so I guess I'll go from there

gothbride2b i just did a quick internet search for alternative wedding dress and came across a great site will post the link for you it had some black wedding dresses on there and the prices were very reasonable they also offer a couture service

I haven't seen a black wedding dress but have seen a white one where all the beading and pattern was black that was stunning so I don't see why a black dress won't look just as lovely xxx

Have you tried the dark angel, I am sure they do bridal gowns if I remember correctly.
