I have been searching the internet in hope of an answer to this horrid question. I had been getting bitten frequently on the left hand side of my body. Has been in the last 8 weeks or so. These look like flea bites but a couple have looked slightly different. I woke up the other morning with three new ones - this time on my neck and face and in view of everyone! These are perhaps the most itchy and painful - not itching is agony as it 'helps' (I know it doesn't really but you know what I mean). These aren't really going down either, the one on my neck appears to be getting reder.
I don't know what to do, I have tried everything I can think of and I don't know whether to see the GP or not...I don't think it is bed bugs - no other signs and H2B is completely bite free. H2B has been bitten before so I know he reacts to them and isn't one of the lucky ones who never react to these bites but they are seriously avoiding him and feasting on me. Normally I would ignore it but now they are on my face and neck I feel really self concious and don't know what to do!
Google hasn't really helped that much so I thought some human responses may help?!
Thanks (sorry for the long post)

oh crikey. Go and see your GP. does sound like bed bugs, but you should be able to see them in your bed, and H2B would get them too. Get some clear cellotape and go over the top of your bed with it, and see if it picks up any wee bugs........

Yeah definently see the doctor & mind to always wash bed linen on the highest setting of your washing machine as anything that is on them will be killed by the heat!

Do you have any pets or had any recently? I wouldn't rule out fleas completely, might be worth bombing the house with some of the stuff you can buy just in case and like rebecca said, blitz your bedding to get rid.
If no creams or treatments are working then get to your GP, you might be reacting to something and you're better safe than sorry!

Yeah, think I will head to the GP on Monday if these don't go down over the weekend! So frustrating!
Thanks for the tips ladies, particularly the selotape idea...will definately try that one.
It is just so strange that only I am getting bitten and not H2B...clearly I am tastier

I get bitten by anything that is around but I have found if you wash in either coal tar soap or use a citronella spray they don't like it and stop biting you. By the way you describe the bites being all down one side I wouldn't rule out bed bugs. Usually if you lift up all the covers and check out the mattress both top, bottom and sides you will find little dark spots which is basically their poo.
When I get bit because I'm allergic to the bites they come up really badly and start leaking puss etc. (not nice at all) My doctor has to give me tablets and a cream to get rid of them and the bites actually scar me. I'm sure that your GP can do something to help you if you are having bad problems getting rid of them. Some of mine have become infected in the past as you don't know what the thing that bit you has got in the way of germs etc so be very careful with them and make sure that your tetanus jab is up to date.

Thanks ladies, xjox I hadn't thought about bed bugs because I haven't seen the bloodspots they are meant to leave behind. I will look on the matress and see if I can see anything. I haven't been bitten, touch wood, for about 3 days now but I am wrapping up in a blanket before bed so these may be keeping them away....Thanks again ladies xx
