I have been pouring over wedding magazines/online articles and noticed that there are very few advertisements of bespectacled brides, and I even read an article telling B2B's to do all they can NOT to wear their specs on the day as they can ruin the photos. Well this simply isn't an option for me! I'm blind as a bat without them on and my face looks wrong without them too. Someone actually suggested laser eye surgery before my Big Day!?! Really?!?!?!?!?!
So, what's a girl to do?!My photographers have told me not to worry which was reassuring, and suggested an anti-glare coating to my lens to prevent flash-glare. But now I'm wondering how my glasses will affect my look on the day itself. I've always worn the chunkier frames as thin frames make me look frumpy and much older, does anyone think this would be a problem? x

Wear the glasses it's part of who you are, if it doesn't affect the way you look the rest of the time the wedding Day won't be any different. You'll probably feel uncomfortable without by the sounds of it,so just do as the photographer suggested

I'll be wearing my glasses and getting the lens coating suggested; I was more in shock at the lengths and suggestions being made to glasses wearers - it's not like we can all wear them as an accessory! I'm just unsure of how my chunky glasses frames will impact on make-up and colour scheme :) x
CommentAuthorVelcro
Could you maybe get a pair in a different colour? Though I know how expensive glasses frames can be my friends are always grumbling about it lol

Make sure when you go for your make-up and hair trial that you're wearing the frames that you will wear on the day. That way they can be worked in to your style. Maybe you could have frames in your colour scheme?

Brides in glasses are just as beautiful as those without. I placed some links on your wall x

I bought brown frames the last time I had mine updated so they will tie in.
I dont look like me without them so its just not an option.
Both my makeup artist and hairdresser were provisionally booked through the book of face so they would of seen in my pic I had specs.
I will also stress the point of them being on all day when it comes to trials.
It is something a lot of people overlook for many things. - Off topic a little but with Halloween coming up the costumes dont alow for glasses either.

im wearing my contacts on the day but i wear these most of the time anyway. ive seen some pics on photographers fbook page and they look great. it wouldnt look like you if you didnt wear your glasses and you wouldnt want to look weird/different on your pics so wear them! x
CommentAuthorMattsBride
I wear contacts ! :-) You are who you are! If you wear glasses on a day to day basis why not on your wedding day? xx
CommentAuthorVickyB70
I think it's awful to suggest that! I for one will most definitely be wearing my glasses and I know h2b would be upset if I didn't as it's part of who I am x

weedles - is your sister joking?! I'd be so upset if I was told that. We can't help being visually challenged! I spoke to H2B who said I'd be silly not to wear them on our day - they are part of who I am and have been for a long time now. I'm going to get a pair of fancier frames than my normal day to day glasses for the occasion =) x

No she's not joking! My mum actually said to me '...... Is so upset your gonna wear your glasses on your wedding day' when I confronted said sister her explanation was 'what's the point in getting your eye makeup done if your gonna cover it with glasses?!' Erm.... Ok glass is see through!
Ill marry my hero

I only really need mine fr distance and small writing watching tv etc... But to I tend to wear them all the time now as I was getting hellish migraines before I got them... If been going to the doctors about t then h2b said go for an Eye test!!!! The rest is history x

oh weedles that is so harsh of your sister! My (potential) make-up artist told me not to worry about seeing the make-up through glasses, as you said glass is see through! I'm having an anti-glare coating added to it which should help too. Do whatever you need to be comfortable and be able to actually see what you are doing on your day! =) x

I don't think id expect my partner not to wear his. I think id get quite a shock if I turned up, and he didn't have them on.

I have to admit that I didn't wear my glasses on the day; I wore contacts which I only wore on special pccassions. But I've since had laser eye surgery so don't wear either anymore and I'm glad I didn't wear them on the day.

I don't think there is anything wrong with you wearing your glasses on the day. What is the point in putting all that effort into your wedding day and then not being able to see any of it properly because you haven't got your glasses on? However, be careful if you have the light reaction lenses in them. My dad was best man at a wedding a couple of months ago and both the bride and groom wore their glasses which was fine for inside and all the pictures inside but when they had some taken outside they both look like they are wearing sunglasses so you can't see their eyes at all and it ruined those photos xxx

Wear them hun, it's part of you! You won't look like you without them and you also want to be fully comfortable on the day.
I didn't wear mine but had them in my case at the venue just in case I felt I needed them if my eyes got tired and I got a headache. Luckily I need glasses but can still get around without them generally, as long as I'm not reading, at the computer or driving. Things just look a little less clear and defined xx

I'm going with glasses on the day, I would quite like to be able to see all aspects of my day (oh and marry the right bloke at the altar haha)! Still infuriates me though that people are made to feel like it's a fashion choice and not a necessity! Looking forward to picking a new pair of frames to be honest, an extra bit of wedding shopping to do lol =D x
CommentAuthorMrsRusty2B
If I still needed my glasses, I'd definately be wearing them on my wedding day. As it is, I've now had laser eye surgery so I don't need glasses/contact lenses any more. However, my H2B wears glasses and I think he looks really sexy with them on.

I have worn glasses since I was 13 and I am gonna be wearing them on my wedding day. I do have contacts but its a bit hit and miss with them at the moment cos I am trialling some cos I need varifocal ones and cant get prescription just right at the moment.
my mums friend owns an opticians and she is on the look out for nice frames for me for the wedding....think she has about 6 pairs put away at the moment for me to look at.
