No of course not! You don't even need bouquets!

One venue we were looking at, if we'd gone with it, they provided candles/candleabra and mirrors, so we'd have had that and some crystals instead of flowers. As it is, me and my BMs will be having bouquets, and we'll have v simple flowers on each table; I don't think we're having button-holes, but we haven't decided yet

you dont even have to have a bouquet if you dont want. We are having extra flowers just to add colour etc but you dont need to. A friend of mine simply had a white or grey baloon with a purple baloon on each table, scattered some sparkles and it looked really nice. No other flowers at all other than her and BM bouquets. Noone commented on lack of flowers so if youy dont want them then dont use them and save some pennies

There's not going to be a flower in sight at our wedding. For one thing - bit difficult to take them all the way to Vegas and for another, I hate that you pay so much for something that then dies!
I'm having a crystal and feather bouquet and the men are having a small variation for their button holes. When we have our reception back home, the table decs will be an extension of that. So, I guess the shorter answer to your questions is, no. You don't have to have flowers at all! Hx

I'm not - I'm having flower table decs but not having podium flowers or anything like that in the ceremony. We're having trees with lights on instead.

I made the mistake of mentioning to one of my bridesmaids that instead of flowers that we could maybe get them the wristband things and she keeps going on about them but I think they might work out dearer than bouquets and also how would they walk down the aisle or stand in pics if they are not holding a bouquet? I don't want flowers at table centres as too dear so trying to think of what else to do.x

I am not having many flowers. My bouquet is going to be made of buttons with a vintage brooch attached to it, and my 2 older BMs are having kissing balls, with my youngest having a silk bag to carry. H2b and the men are having artificial roses with pearl detail. The bird cages I am having will have an artificial rose garland wrapped around them with a pillar candle inside and that is about it. We are having our reception in our garden so we will have flowers out anyway for free, lol. But the bottom line is have what you want, not everyone is bothered about flowers and they are expensive too for the time that you use them. I would have liked them for the church but am not paying £75 per display, so will take 2 bird cages and put pretty lights inside them for the ceremony and then take them home and whack a candle inside instead! :) x

Piper, for centrepieces you can have anything from candles to clear vases filled with your choice of fruit or sweets. Or the new trend of cake pops. Just have to spend some time searching. Good luck! :)

we are not having many flowers at all.
We're having bouquets for the Bride and BMs.
And each table with have 1 flower as a centre piece in a fish bowl.
And the head table will have a small line of flowers.
All the flowers are going to be white.

It's very minimalistic and clean. We like it a lot.

the Men will be having their button holes made for them. so not real flowers/

I hate balloons too MiniHobo, but we are having 2 big bunches as they look pretty and the kids can take them away after. I like the look of them but can't stand them being too close to me in case they pop. I can't even blow them up, so it is h2b job on the morning of the wedding to blow them up, but using a helium canister to make it easier. If he upsets me though I might make him do it manually, lol. x
