Just after your thoughts so I can put them to hubby. We had sorted names out for the baby before we even had a postive test. For a girl we picked Rosemary and a boy Robert. Robertw as picked out years ago as if Evie was a boy that is what she would have been called. However the more I've been thinking the less i liked Robert. I think this is because I have Alexander shortened to Alex and Evelynn shortened to Evie and there is not many ways I can shorten Robert to four letters other than Bert which Adam doesnt like and Robi whch I dont think looks right for a boy? Robert was Adams grandads name so I didnt want to tell Adam that I didnt really want it however when I did he wasnt bothered and said he wants me tobe happy with the name and we can still have it as a middle name if need be.
So I'm after a name that is either 4 letters long or a name that can be shortened to 4 letters. This is because both of them shorten to 4 so want to keep it for this one too. I have however made the mistake of telling Adam he can pick the name as long as Im agreeable.
Adam has said these two so far; Loki - Norse God of mischeif Lucifer (Luca) - Lucifer, **** and the Devil are three different names for the same evil angel.
I like Luca though, but think Adam said Lucifer as a bit of a joke as I keep saying with how god the other two are that this one will be a devil child!
I have said I like Jackson shortened to Jack but he said a straight out no. Also the boy opposit us is Jack!
Any names that i can put to him will be very greatly recieved (by me at least) xx

Reuben is nice but thats my newphews name so that like it.

Olly Morgan sounds lovely I think its one of them name that is such a rounded name.
Olly is cute when little but growns with him, olly still sounds cool for a teenager but again still sounds fine for a grown up either way Olly or oliver (if he wants to have full name for work etc).

we're the opposite we settled on a boys name straight away, Jack Joseph but cant settle on a girls name I really like Ivy but he wants Chloe I think the names should have some sort of meaning to it other, how about asking you're children to think of names that could be nice xxx

My kids are only 3 (4 next month) and 20 months so Evie doesnt understand and Alex only comes out with names from his favourite programes Justin (justins house) Ben or Kevin (ben 10) and adams twin is called ben!
So think if they was older they would be ok to have more of an imput x

I named my brother! When I was about 8. My mum wanted to call him Russell but I was adamant that was a silly name and said he should be called Martin, and my mum actually liked it more and it stuck lol :)
Suppose three is a bit younger though!

I've just read through this coz my x husband and me did nowt but fight about the kids names. But lizzylo you picked out 2 great boys names last night my son is called Matthew William we all call him Matt, my daughter's called Megan Alice people have said that they sound like something out of a kids book. To be truthful I think you have to think carefully when naming a child what you think is cute and original could turn out to be a bully's dream when your child is at school

To be honest if a kids going to get bullied it's going to happen regardless of what his/her name is. If all a bully can find to make fun of is a name then they're getting off lightly. Kids get bullied for not looking a certain way or not behaving a certain way, but we don't go changing our children to look certain ways or act certain ways so they don't get bullied, so what's the sense in avoiding names you like for the sake of bullies?

I got picked on and pointed out all the way through school because of my last name so i no what I'm talking about I even had teacher's who could not pronounce it right it's only got 3 letters, you will also find it is the last 3 letters of manure so I'm sure you can all think of a name or 2 I've been called over the years. That is why I said think carefully
