I think its a great idea, but arnt there cheap jewellry shops that would be cheaper maybe better than argos, Id say look around cause you can do deals with jewellers you cant with argos :-) x

Ours are argos ones. Its not the value or the place you bought them, its who they are for and the feelings behind them that counts. Theres too much materialism and not enough sentiment with some people. If they are the rings you want go for it. xxx

I agree with vintage lass, the quality of the gold will be no different if you go the a jewellers, it's just that argos sell them cheaper, and it's not like anyone's gunna judge you on it, but if you're worried they would, it's simple, don't tell them!
I just looked at some of argos's rings, and they're really pretty! If you see you you like, go for it!
Or in H2B wont budge.. Try Ebay or an online jewellers, they're generally cheaper as they don't have to pay for the upkeep of a shop! And you will probably be able to find some amazing ones within your budget! x

we will be getting ours from argos as we dont have the money either. there is no difference in a 18ct white gold ring from argos, to one from a jewerly shop, expect the price!!! we just want the tradition plain band and this is where argos comes in greatfor us.

nothing wrong with argos, if you are just having plain gold bands or similar then you wouldn't be able to tell where they are from. and if its 18ct gold etc then it would be the same whether it is from argos or tiffany! xx

Like all things it's snobbery that makes us think we can't have things from cheaper shops .... It doesn't matter where your rings are from, but what they mean to you that matters yeah? ;) I think Argos is fab and have had loads of nice stuff from there, my Sphere Of Life necklace I had from h2b for my birthday last year is so lovely xx

I don't know if this applies to jewellery but John Lewis have that 'never knowingly undersold' promise. It might be worth having a look... that way your H2B might feel better having a wedding band from JL, rather than Argos.

you know what. i think it doesn't matter how much you pay or where it comes from. it's what it represents to you both. im getting my wedding rings from saving up tescos vouchers and converting them to vouchers off with goldsmiths as we are scrimping on our wedding too. it's an expensive thing weddings, makes sense to cut costs

The only difference between carat is the amount of pure gold in the jewellery I think.

I don't think there is anything wrong with this!
I am in the same boat, and suggested it to H2B but he isn't too keen either.
    I don't get it, there's beautiful one's in there!

We got our wedding rings from Argos for my first wedding 11 years ago.... rings lasted longer than the marriage LOL!!!!
I dont see what's wrong with getting them from Argos, and they do realy nice ones on there at such a nice price too. There is another shop that is quite affordable I think its called Warren James though not too sure about the name. They have really nice titanium ones for around £14-£30 and gold ones from around the same prices... (I dont work there.. was checking them out yesterday LOL).
    Good luck hun xx

That depends on the thickness of the gold pouchi.. My dad gave me one of his rings years ago.. And it's bent loads, but that's just due to wear and tear.. And it only being a thin ring.. But argos do different thicknesses too x

okay so it not just argos, when i saw that i didnt even bother to go in store and look because he is a plumber so he needs a thick one. Ive got his ring already so im no longer looking. But if thats the case i dont see why you cant buy a ring form there.

I don't think it matters where you get your rings from as long as you like them. We ended up at H Samuel - which is not where I would have thought - however they were the only place with the set that I liked.
We don't have loads of money and have spent what we can on rings - we decided that if we needed to replace them a few years down the line then we would. However now having my engagement ring on my finger - it is really solid and I cannot see it not lasting as long as I care for it! xx

We spent ages looking around jewellry shops for my engagement ring, even handmade exclusive type shops and couldnt find anything that was 'me'. Looked in Argos just on the off-chance and found my ring! Love it to bits and couldnt be happier with it! Will be getting my wedding ring from in there too! I think H2B is having his made, havent decided yet.
