    Hey girls,

I have decided on black and white cala lillies with sparkly bits and some foliage for my bouquet but I cant find a shape that really stuns me. I have booked my florist and I am only having my bouquet made from real flowers due to budget. So I really want my bouquet to just look beautiful but I've been lookin on google and the teardrop seems to suit the shape of the lillies best. However every photo I find looks very 1980's. Does anyone know where I can find photos or have any suggestions to what shape the bouquet should be? I just cant find a photo that Ive fallen in love with and as I am paying so much for my bouquet I really want to love it

I like the teardrop ones in a way but I just cant find a photo that I like :-( Im not very good at visualising things in my head. Plus Im not very good with flowers. I think its in my head cos someone said that to me. I told them I was having a teardrop bouquet and they said its that not a bit "old fashioned" It mightve even been H2B who said it. Now theyve put that doubt in my head. Im just not too sure what I want really :-/

    I don't think so no.
Ive seen loads of beautiful ones and dont think they look old fashioned at all!
Personally I think its all to do with the flowers in them and how you put them together

Lilmisschuckles I had a teardrop at my first wedding this time because of the details on the dress ive been looking at I'm going for a posy :-)

I found that if I type medium sized teardrop cala lily bouquet into google I find hundreds of lovely pictures. I was just typing in cala lily bouquets before and there was nothing I liked that much.

    Thanks for your help :-)

I think Ill go for a medium sized teardrop bouquet and have some pretty ribbon hanging from the stems if you know what I mean. Ive found some lovely pics now :-)

I'm having a shower bouquet-which is very similar to a teardrop (in fact I was undecided between to two until recently) and one of the florists I went to for a quote told me it was very old fashioned and hardly anyone has them anymore. Needless to say we aren't going to be using her! I think they are beautiful, timeless and elegant and if you like it get it. Just a word of warning that my florist gave me though is don't throw the bouquet as it can be quite heavy and could hurt someone if it hits them lol xx

That first picture is GORGEOUS! I want one like that with feathers and sparkly bits and some black lillies. Thank you so much for your help girls. I love that first one. Its so pretty. I could just ask for that except with black lillies involved too....

I was going to have a couple of mini butterfly things on it too but I dont know if that would be a bit much...

:-) Im such a happy girl today! Im off to my brothers wedding tomorrow which I was really annoyed at because I thought he'd "stolen my thunder" a bit but now Im actually looking forward to it.

Aw hun I think people have used the wrong words & given you doubts - I'd say teardrops are more traditional, not old fashioned :)
"Old fashioned" always seems to sound negative but not if you describe it as "classic", "timeless" or "vintage". Have the flowers you want in the shape you want - they look lovely! Glad you've found pics you like :) Xx

I was told recently by a florist at a wedding fair that if you are having a more fitted type dress to go for a teardrop and if your dress is more full skirted to go for the more rounded bunch as it suits the style of the dress more. But I guess you could have whatever you want really.

I had a teardrop bouquet of roses and it wasn't old fashioned at all. My bm had a round posy - and tbh I think round bouquets are more for bm's and the teardrop suits the bride more.

i love the tear drop shape it is classic and elegant and i was told that if you have a bit of a belly (i have more than a bit lol) its also great for hiding it. I think you should have exactly what you want and dont let others put you off. x

a lot of brides still pick tear drop because its very elegant and it depends on how you do it. They normally tend to be more expensive though than most bouquets due to the amount of wiring (but surprisingly I can hold mine on my little finger even tho its huuuuuuge) so if you have a small budget then maybe its not an idea. It also doesnt matter if they are small or large as we found out.... ours was a fixed price of £150 whether a big one for me or a smaller version for BM.... hence BM now have posies at half the price. Hope that helps.

cant wait to be Mrs Evans less than 3 weeks woooo
