I phoned the registrars office this morning and we have our appointment booked to go give notice of marriage :D Going on August 16th, so excited I could spin cartwheels!!
1 step closer to being Mrs Tempest :D

    Just in case there are any other B2Bs in the West Yorkshire area who have still got to register you will need to take the following with you;
    Full birth certificate or passport
Proof of address such as recent utility bill, full driving licence or bank statement
If you've changed your name by deed poll you'll also need that document too
If you or your OH is divorced you'll need the documentation from that too (decree absolute)
Fee (at Leeds town hall) is £33.50 each so £67.00 for both of you

"The course of true love never runs smoothly"
But if it had been easy then we wouldn't love each other as
much as we do right now - 1 week to go :D

I know! I was making some save the date cards last night as well, so I was really in 'wedding mode' all day yesterday! I even think I might have found some bridesmaid dresses I like, and that will look ok on my tall skinny 18 year old daughter and the dumpy 10 year old neice of my H2B lol x

im guessing you can only go monday to friday? i had my letter yesterday confiming our registrars booking and what we need to do next. they did say they would confirm everything about giving notice but unfortunatly they didnt. i know you cant do it more than 12 months in advance so im guessing i can arrange mine next month.

Woohoo how exciting! We went to meet ours back in June-we were so nervous! Just a thing i'd double check about the passport or birth certificate thing as we had to have both! I had a birth certificate but didnt have a passport so had to get one sorted, and my h2b had a passport but not a birth certificate so he had to get one-it was a total nightmare and they wouldnt let us have an appt until we had them both! lol

You're right Tiggs, in my excitement I forgot to mention the need for divorcees to take their papers with them (sorry!!) and as Jade said, ours has asked for either one or the other on passport/birth certificate but I think that depends on what area you live in.
Seems like a few of us are getting it done in the next couple of months :)

nim, don't be fooled into thinking I'm organised, it's only because I'm 6 months preggers and our Reverend suggested finalising things before the new arrival came along. If it had been left to us it probably wouldn't have been done much before the cut off date lol

YAY for W Yorks Rags :D

If it's a C of E church then no, you have Banns read instead but if you're getting married in any other church then yes, you need to go through the registrar process.
Not a silly question at all - If we hadn't been told we wouldn't have known, I thought all churches read Banns

cool - we are hoping to get married in a CofE and have been pencilled in but can't arrange anything as they are away on holiday at the moment. Good to know though - will we need same proof of ID? xx
