I am having artificial flowers which means i am able to buy a secondary bouquet to throw. I know not all brides like the idea of essentially giving away their bridal bouquet and wondered if anyone else was honouring this tradition?

I'm not throwing mine for the simple reason I want to keep it and I'm not having a second made just to chuck as I only have 5 girls that are not married so can't really justify it for a couple of ladies.

Im throwing mine. I think it will be fun. Plus my bouquet will be real flowers so they will only die, so I might as well have some fun with them!!

I will make sure i get loads of photos of it before it gets destroyed though!! lol!!

And then the main centre piece flowers we're keeping to put on the graves of our loved ones that are no longer with us.

Ive got a mini version of mine being made but someone on here mentioned getting 6 red roses (part of my theme) from the supermarket and throwing them instead so 6 ppl get a chance of catching one............which i loved so i might do that and keep the smaller version to give to my mum :-)

I'm a very sentimental person but I'm not fussed about my bouquet - it'd just be one more thing to take up space I dont have. I didnt think about throwing it though, may do that! At a wedding show at the weekend I saw a company that press your wedding bouquet and frame it. Must say it didnt look too hot! x

im doing the same... I am havinh white carnations and one red rose so all female guests can catch a flower but the red one is obviously the one to aim for. I am giving the bridal bouquet to nan and grandad doing the game during the eve reception. They should be the last married couple standing so will then hand over the bouquet and ask for words of wisdom

im unsure what to do, i wasn't for throwing anything but putting it on my grampas grave (who died a year past january - we were very close)
but then im unsure what others (ie. my mum) will think as i wasnt going to put anything on my other papas , but he died when i was 8 months so i have little connection to him. So confused as to what to do

Hell no! I'm paying £100 for my bouquet alone so its not ending up being mauled to death by the many ladies attending my wedding! I might give it to my nan and grampies instead as she is 88 and he is 91! They are both very excited and I have my dad and gramps giving me away on the day! :D xxx

I don't think so, I'm hoping that it will dry nicely ... in my Mum's care! If I kept it they would all just keel over and die the next day! I am terrible at keeping plants - I have even managed to kil a cactus!

Since my h2b's nan is doing the flowers, I wouldn't dream of throwing the bouquet. However, I'm going to piece together one of plastic flowers to throw. Since it's going to get mauled, its not going to be an absolute replica either, just in the right colours and tied up nicely.

hi, MelG, If you look on ebay or somewhere like that. look for a stuff called silica gel. this stuff will dry out your bouquet faster & it will keep its form better.

I'm a florist, i remember reading last year of some women in holland or germany that had bouquets that could after the service be split into three. one third to keep, one third for their mum & one third to throw.
