I was going to get married at Newstead Abbey with my ex but I pulled out a couple of months before hand as he was a *********** Now I've met a cracking guy and I'm getting married to him at Bosworth Hall as I've moved away from the area now. Hope all goes well for you ladies. I do miss home :(

You've picked a beautiful venue Rach, the flower beds outside the reg office are always fantastic and the wedding room is lovely. I think its the best registry office in nottingham :-) Shame I won't be at work that day to wave out the window lol. Where are you having your reception? xx

we loved it, and its the biggest one in nottinghamshire i believe, and even thats not big enough!! Our reception is at the Britannia hotel in town, im originally from York and we picked it because its central, good value rooms for everyone coming down from t'north we dont get married til 345 so we are having photos at the castle, and then champagne, canapies, speeeches, cake cutting, buffet, first dance and general party in that order lol !!! x x x How about you Katkin?

Hi Rach, your day sounds perfect :-) i'm really happy for you. We are getting married at The Park Farmhouse hotel in Castle Donington. We are having an 'alternative' wedding, with the legal registry bit 1st, followed by a pagan hand fasting at the same venue. If the weather's good that bit will be outside in the courtyard area or if wet it will be in the large converted threshing barn. We are having an informal hog roast, and then a rock band and disco in the evening. I really wanted to have fireworks but the venue won't allow it sadly. xxx

ooh sounds fabulous....i think thats the main thing, having a wedding you as a couple want, not what everything else wants for you!!!! Keep me posted on how ya doing, its nice to know a fellow BTB in the same area x x x

Thank you :-) yeah I agree, it's our day so we are going with what we feel comfortable and happy with. Hopefully everyone will be happy for us and enjoy the day too. I'm sure rock music won't be everyone's cup of tea but we will get them to play some other stuff too to keep the non-rock guests happy lol xxx

Hi magsy, just had a look at your wedding day photos, you look gorgeous :-). I hope you had a lovely day. I work in the offices above the registry office so we get to watch the weddings out of the window lol. I think your wedding was on a Saturday though so I wouldn't have seen you. It is a beautiful venue and the registrars are lovely there. Was it a man or woman who did your service? Kath xx
