ah we looked there.... they have a nice castle style back drop dont they and very reasonable. We also went peckforton castle and omg I would never get married at peckforton after meeting the owner but in the end it worked out for the best as we fell in love with crewe hall. Where else did you look? We looked at is it craxton wood near there and mollington banastre.

We looked at Thornton Hall, but really didn't like it. Was going to look at The Mollington Banastre but was put off by the outside. I didn't get a chance to look at craxton or crewe but fell in love with Crabwall so very happy. Will be checking out Crewe Hall online tho as a few people have said they getting married there, so I'm going to have a nose lol

yeah we werent fussed with thornton hall hotel either but a friend of mine got married there and we went the evening do and it was nice but limited photo opps. Thornton manor amazing but due to minumum numbers which we werent prepared to invite we couldnt go there... plus it was 12k before you started on anything else. Mol ban looks good from the back but not the front. Again a friend got married there. We also went to the grosvenor in pulford but you are paying 7k for basically a conference room so we passed that one by.

Thanks hun, Checked out pics online and its beautiful :) Yeah I'm not keen on the pulford either. We've been to 3 weddings there in the last 2 years and have another to go to next month and each wedding has been the same :( Even the photos are the same, Everyone uses the same photographer, (who i personally dont like as I think hes rude and intrusive), you could just cut out pics of your head, stick them on other peoples pic and save yourself a fortune hahaha

Crabwall Manor was really reasonable. We booked for 2014 before the end of January and got it at the 2012 price. They are the only place I've seen that don't count October as 'wedding season' and so was cheaper again. They are really good, can't do enough for us. We've got the room the night before, and then on the day we've got the bridal suite and 2 'parent' suites all free!! It was the outside that sold it for me. I first saw it when I ws 15 and have always had my heart set on getting married there. We looked around a couple of different places but when we went there it was like coming home lol Just felt perfect. <3

thankyou.... its great that they are bending over backwards for you and so sweet you wanted there since 15. The one I had my heart set on was peckforton until I got there and realised the manager was a c++k haha! You are lucky you can get married in oct... we had to pick Aug as im a frigging teacher so for honeymoon reasons could only go in Summer and so get married in summer. I suppose we could do dec but then they hike the prices up a tad there as that seems to be a mini wedding season.

What is your next plan now venue sorted?

Venue and registrar are booked and I met with my photographer tonight :) Next step is paying him and his wife as she's a harpist! Then i'm going to hit the diet and start on the dress search I think :)
Awww Did you at least get a gorgeous day though? I sometimes think it would be worth the extra money for the sunshine but then its not guarenteed and knowing my luck they'd be a flood hahaha x

omg I think I know them..... I worked with him if its who I think it is? Dick Linett and oonagh? Richard is lovelly. We used to teach together but then unfortunately we took over the school where he worked and the staff all were not very happy.

Yes we had a fantastic day. We were lucky that it was the best day that far in a month as they were really concerned about the fireworks as all that month they had to watch them from the dining room haha! We got to go outside and it was sunny (ish) for the photies.

Funny you mention flood as in chester it was the day of the races where the races got cancelled due to flooding.....hence we were really fricking lucky :)

YOu will have to keep me posted on the dress x
