My H2B and I are having a more informal style day and I'm not really sure I want flowers. We're probably not having any at the reception venue and we've already decided to sack the button holes too. The only thing I'm worried about is what to do with my hands when walking down the isle as there will be no bouquet to keep my hands busy. And you know what they say about idle thumbs....

Were having an informal day too.. and I am refusing to pay a ridiculous amount of money on something that is going to die eventually lol. So I've resided to make my own small boquet and buttonhole for the groom(pics on profile)Cost me tops £20.. I just use it as I walk down the isle and on a few pictures then give it to my mum to look after till we get home most probs :)

Were not having any at the reception either.. just normal decorations and homemade centerpieces aswell.. (crackled little bowls lined with colour matched tissue paper filled with sweets and little gems to decorate).

Is it you defo don't want flowers and want something different?? Or just don't think the flowers will go with your day??

you could have one of those fluffly hand warmer things (can't remember what they're called!!) so that you're hands are competely covered and then take if off when you get to the alter. Or... have you seen four weddings? One of the brides on there had a bouquet made of christmas bauballs that looked quite cute x

I am not spending money on real flowers for bouquets as i want it to keep forever. i will be making mine from foam roses. they look real but very cheap.

i also like the ideal of cluth bags.

I am having feathers with a few crystals thrown in for some sparkle!

How about using vintage brooches and buttons to make a bouquet? You could make button holes with them too...

Fabric flowers ..pretty fabric remnants made into flowers..add a sparkly button for the centre - boooootiful!

Cut out flower shapes (say in felt)...then layer them on top of each other, slightly smaller each time) and add buttons to the centre...add florists wire..wrap in a beautiful complimenting ribbon around the handle...

Paper flowers - made from beautiful paper/tissue papers...Wooden Flowers...?

Dependant on time of year..but an Autumn wedding you could use pine cones, Ivy, Berries..all FREE from good ol' Mother Nature!

A Parasol, if you are getting hitched outside...?

    A fan...?

We had an "unformal" wedding in London, but my husband wanted me to have some flowers, and I didn't wanted to play a fortune for it. So we've just bought 3 red and 3 ivory roses and I have added an ivory ribbon and that cost us only £12, I also had a small handbag (it was from my grandma and was my old stuff).

*Just a word to the wise* re Horseshoes...now I *think* that it is BAD luck (IF you believe in all that malarky) to carry the horseshoe BEFORE you are married...it is customary to have it given AFTER the wedding.

Now, in the wedding etiquette scheme of things I know Bug ger all so CHECK this info....
