Hello everyone!! Had a bit of a shock the other day. The shop where I'm havin my bridesmaids dresses from have said that 2 shorten the dresses it will b £40 each dress - all of my bridesmaids are real short -, and up to £60 in total each approx for other alterations. I have 4 bridesmaids, so thats a possible £240 in alterations before alteration costs to my own dress!! Does this sound right? How much r u paying?

GOOD GOD!!!! my dress alterations are £75 but that also includes storage and insurance and pressing the dress before i pick it up. so i don't know about your cost, it seems high to me. Our bridesmaids dresse came from a website and they're not actually proper bridesmaids dresses they're just like evening dresses (proper bridesmaids dresses were TOO expensive and we've 4 bridesmaids.) but were £25 each and the girls look lovely in them!!! xx

my dress is £30 to alter. Im not sure about bridesmaids dresses, as the price we paid included alterations. Im guessing it may because of what needs doing? it is pretty expensive, you could try taking it to a tailor instead of a wedding shop as that may be cheaper.

A hook and eye for £50!! Think I'd betta stitch those back onto the 2 bridesmaids dresses I have as both bridesmaids have literally popped em! They r plannin 2 lose weight. God, an extra £50 on top of what I've already been quoted would just about see me off I think!!

if its any easier, ask the bridesmaids to pay for their own alterations, then youve got less stress. thats what im doing, the way we saw it was weve paid for their dresses they can pay for them to fit lol x
