We are thinking of mini Jack Daniels bottles for the boys and either Vodka or Archers for the girls. Have to come up with something for the few non-drinkers who are coming though!

alot of people have miniatures as favours. my friend did at her wedding for the men and it was fine.x
H2B said no one likes gin so they will all just get left and it will be a waste of money. I am sure my BMS will polish off any that get left!!!!!

Hi ginge23 - where are you getting those from, sounds good!
CommentAuthorWalesfromafar
Some venues dont allow miniatures as favours just to warn you. I know about half of the places we were looking at dont so check with your venue first. But I think it's a lovely idea and ALL of my friends drink G&T x

I am thinking personalised bottles of wine ... but will double hek the venue as I never even considered they may restrict other booze infaltrating their hotel!

Hi Mrs Howard2B my mum and dad both work in the whisky bond (where the bottle all the whisky) so my dad is getting them done for me. xx

My friends wedding, they had lottery tickets for everyone as a favour... I like the idea of mini's. We were debating bringing loads cheap drink back from a holiday and doing gift bags for people with a bottle plonk and some sweeties.
Ginge, that's good like, does they get them free or mega discounted? Should ask them to stock up on LOADS and sell them lol
CommentAuthorginge23
Geordie he gets them for £1.00 each which is good. They are not allowed to sell them lol company policy or we could have a wee eaby shop going. xx
CommentAuthorGeordie_Nikki
On the sly man ;-) bet there's loads girls on here would buy a batch of you's lol

good idea, we decided against it because it was so expensive but it turns out we are spendin £2 per favour so probably would of been cheaper! xxx

I'm having miniture vodka for the woman and dark rum for the men. They'll be in a pick'n'mix candy bag with old school sweets in as well. So if someone isnt drinking, they still have candy - plus I'm sure someone will be kind enough to take it off their hands :-P x

I've just looked at this as I like the idea but the best prices I can find for most is just under £2 each - so by the time they add a mixer it will be about same as a drink from the bar (and they can choose exactly what they want from the bar rather than me guessing) Does anyone have links for cheaper ones?

will u have to pay a surcharge? Our venues so funny with bringing food/drink from outside! Your not allowed to bring any alcoholic drink of your own onto the premises or they shell be "essorted of the premises with a chance of the bar being closed for the remainder of the evening"...and for 750ml? its £15 surcharge per bottle or £20 for 1 ltr bottles. I don't no if u will have to but id deffo check. I think your guest would love it x

I would also be a bit wary if there are a fair few of the guests who won't be drinking - at one wedding I went to, the non drinkers 'donated' their alcoholic favours to one of the bridesmaids - cue paryletic bridesmaid! But if that won't be a problem, I think it's a nice idea - although things to consider are:- 1. Will venue allow it? A lot of hotels won't, or wil charge corkage. 2. Are there any people who can't/shouldn't drink? If you have someone with alcohol issues who are trying to cut back or quit drinking, it might not go down well. 3. Think about getting a mixture of different spirits - it will be hard finding something that suits everyone, and gin and whiskey are acquired tastes. - if you have a variety then people can mix and match til they're happy.
But I do think it is a nice touch xx
