Hi everyone, i have just been looking through bride mag and there was a bride in there who had a box offlip flops at her evening do! She had tied each pair together with some ribbon and they were the same colour as her scheme! I think this is a great idea, especially for guests who have been there all day and will have sore feet from wearing heels! I am seriously thinking of doing this forour wedding. I just wanted to share this idea incase anyone else wanted to do it and also wondered if anyone new the best place to get flip flops from at a reasonable price?

hi take a look at the toiletries basket thread as its been mentioned in there. I think your best bet is to look at £ shops or primani. xx

I got mine from primark for 50p per pair - only downside was that they don't match the colour scheme but then their dresses wont so i didn't worry too much :)

i saw this in my wedding mag too and cut it as im thinking of doing it too but not sure on sizing are you thinking of getting so many in each size?? i spoke to a mate about this and she mentioned the slip on slipper type socks (not sure if you no what i mean!) so i've attached a link so you can see what i mean! ... anyways she was saying they come in 2 sizes s/m or m/l so easy that trying to decide how many of each size plus she said they'd be easier to dance in & they're really comfy :)
CommentAuthorNikitaL
I was thinking primani too :) Nicsquared that looks really good! :) After seeing how many of you are also doing this i have decided i definatley am too :) thanks ladies! :)

CommentAuthorNikitaL
Your not allowed to post links hun, mods will remove it. :( got it though ;) next time stick them on my wall though so you dont get done! lol.
I was thinking of just getting a few in different sizes, or just have a txt round and see what size feet all the ladies are?? not sure really?
CommentAuthorXx Lou xX
daft question you said you got 30 in total did you just pick a number or did you think about yours and who would probably use them xx
CommentAuthorXx Lou xX
ahhh sorry didnt no new here :P thanks though xx

The slipper socks look good too, but think at £2.50 a pair itwould be too pricey. Think 50p a pair for flip flops is more in my budget :)
CommentAuthorNicsquared
Well I have about 120 guests in the evening, 50-50 spilt of men and woneni thought not everyone would want them so went for 30 but it was fairly arbitrary but it turned out that they fit into the basket perfectly

Search on ebay for wholesale flip-flops, found 50 white flip flops for just over £62, makes it about £1.30 per pair, don't think primani could match that price, would just depend how many pairs you'd be after.... as think starting at 50 pairs is an awful lot...
CommentAuthorNikitaL
Think i would probably just get about 20 pairs if that. most of our day guests are staying at the venue overnight so will have spare shoes with them, just thought its a nice touch for those who wont. :)
CommentAuthorHa_x3
I think thats a fab idea & very unique :)

I love the flipflop idea but we ended up opting for fans as it was a really hot day and we thought these would be used more :o) I'm sure your guests would welcome the comfort and the fact that you thought of them xx
Can someone post the link for the slipper socks on my wall? Thanks xx

Primarni sells the slipper sock things too, I remember buying a pair in the winter. I think i will still go for flip flops though :-) my only concern is that they will be rubbish for guests wearing tights?? I have always tended to wear tights at weddings?
The store of 21 has them for £1.99 and at the moment they are buy one get one free. Some are quite nice too. xx
CommentAuthorLegoWife
The flat foldable ones would be ideal but they're really expensive :/

I really like this idea! But I'm not sure that I can stretch to this as an added extra :/ If anyone knows of the cheapest place to get them that would be great, I wasn thinking maybe pmark at the end of the summer season they might be giving them away then!! I would just be a bit worried about which sizes to get :/ xx
CommentAuthorNikitaL
Roberta that is a good idea going for them at the end of the summer season! :) good thinking :)
I havent had a look around yet as this will also be an added extra for us and i have so much other things to organise first, but in the meantime if i find any that are mega cheap i will let you all know :)
CommentAuthorHelenW
I love this idea and am def going to try and fit it into the budget! as well as the nice little sets in the bathrooms... its the finishing touches that all add up tho! xx

Just found a job lot of flip flops on ebay. There are 72 pairs and it works out at 61p per pair including postage :) Don't know if it would be worth emailing the seller to ask for smaller amounts? Have put the link on my wall

I do like this idea but I know soo many people who dont like flip flops because they dont like things between their toes, showing their toes or they just cant keep them on. What else can I use instead of flip flops?

CommentAuthorMrsShaw
slippers? xx
CommentAuthorsprucey83
Those ballet pump things that have elastic round them so they fit a few sizes? Like this..

Wow Mrs Shaw to be, that's a great deal! I've just been looking at Matalan and they've got loads of different styles there for £2. I thought about doing this ages ago but then forgot about it, but I'm definitely considering doing it again!
Very happy to say I'm now Mrs Keates and loving it!
