Jemma & Adam's Wedding Story
Jemma and Adam got married at the beautiful Essex wedding venue, The Rose Barn which is on The Warren Estate near Maldon.
I had already met Jemma and Adam a few times before during their engagement shoot and at the venue so I had got to know them quite well and knew the style of images they wanted.
They had asked me for a few key shots that were important to them and then said to use my creativity to decide on the rest.
The day stared at Jemma’s parent house in Maldon for bridal preparations before we headed off to The Rose Barn. This was a Christmas wedding and the venue was decorated beautifully with Christmas trees and decorations. Once at the venue I went off to find the guys for a few shots before the ceremony.
The ceremony took place at the top of the grand oak staircase which provided a beautiful setting for the photographs.
Although I usually like to try and do group shots outside, the ceremony was at 3 pm and at this time of year, we were losing light fast so I setup lighting inside on the stunning oak staircase inside to capture the group shots. We still got outside for some couple portraits which was nice, no matter the time of year I always think it’s nice to get a mix of both indoor and outdoor images.
One particular shot the couple did request was a sparkler image so we lined everyone up to form a tunnel for Jemma and Adam to walk through, getting all the sparklers lit at the same time was a bit tricky but with the help of an industrial gas heater we pulled it off.

5* I couldn’t recommend James enough. From the very first message I sent, James has been friendly, professional and approachable. We had our engagement shoot with James last weekend. Both of us dislike our photo being taken but James put us at ease from the start. He made the shoot fun and really knew his stuff when it came to positions. We love the photos he has captured and can’t wait to have him there to capture our Wedding Day. Thank you again James
