Calling all brides who have used Chinese sellers for their bridesmaid...

I ordered a dress from China, is was awful, looked nothing like the one advertised and was a horrible fit. Couldn't send it back as it was going to cost too much so eventually I got a 50% refund on it and got a supplier off Amazon who were also Chinese, the business was called Angel Star where we went to there place in Birmingham and got measured, tried loads on in different styles on and then ordered one and fair enough it did cost 3 times as much but it was great and so were they. Had a bad experience with Shillas UK. Badly made and completely wrong colour, only offering an 8% refund?? It's up to you if you want to take the risk. My SIL got our bridesmaid dresses from china and they were great x

I used DHGate, specifically Bridelee, and they were absolutely beautiful. They were custom made, and arrived really quickly. The only reason they didn't fit is because I ordered them too big! :) x

Try ever pretty UK on Amazon. They are on eBay (from china) but if you order on Amazon prime they come really quickly from UK and you have easy free returns if you don't like them or they don't fit.

Mine were perfect! Minor alterations to the lengths but that was it. Can't find the seller as it was too long ago (bought Xmas 2015) but read the reviews very carefully, same dress was available from a few places, the one I went for wasn't quite the cheapest but still only about £30/dress ish. :)

I bought all of my bridesmaids dresses from lightinthebox.com and opted for custom measurements! They were beautiful, had 5/6 layers of fabric and most definitely couldn't of been made here for the price I paid £250 for 5 dresses and they were perfect for the girls on the day! I only needed 4 dresses but I ordered one too short and had to re-order one of them. X

I've just received a dress today I ordered from China. They sent me the completely wrong one. eBay are now involved to get my money back or a pre paid return label from them. Avoid dreamwedding520.

My wedding dress came from www.lightinthebox.com a USA sight but dress was made and shipped from China. Had a custom made one and it fitted like a glove and looked like the picture, it looked a lot more expensive than it cost. The only thing I would say beware of custom duties. I took out insurance with the above site, and they reimbursed me without any problems. If you pm me, I can send a few pics of the dress. Good luck

I used kenzie dress from ebay from China. Very very impressed and would definitely recommend. Took about 4 weeks to arrive but all were spot on the sizes. I had 2 12s 1 14 and 1 16. Just needed adjusting on the shoulders but that was all.

Had two sets from light in the box. Both were perfect and we'll made. One set long and one set short. Even got teenage ones for that intermediate age. Defo recommend. Just need to add about 15 pound per dress for delivery which you pay when they arrive so bear it in mind when looking at cost. Xx

I bought 6 and they didn't look anything like the pics, so got a fair bit of money refunded and stripped them back and re styled them. They ended up being beautiful in the end lol

I used an Ebay seller and had lots of communication with them before actually placing the order. The dresses were amazing, I asked about extra fabric to use for decorations and they sent me some free of charge. I can't find the sellers name as has been a whole but definitely read the reviews and message them first. Use a company supposed to a random seller. :-)

Im waiting for my bridesmaids dresses to come home with baited breath!! I had a dream last night they came and they were awful, still had the pins in and were enormous!!

Ours came from queenofholloway.com in China. They looked lovely and fitted perfectly (we sent them the girls measurements). Service was great answering emails within the day. We also got them to send us some of the material so could get cravats for the men made to match by weddingcravats.net

I know its personal preference and i dont mean to offend but all i see is cheap fabric in most dresses people put up you get what you pay for i think. And fair enough if you have tight budgets but some highstreet uk shops also do nice bridesmaid dresses that dont cost the world

I was really pleased with mine, had 3 bridesmaids all different sizes and all I had to do was get 2 slightly altered (length) seller was somia dress on eBay. Really helpful with messages too and a bargain! X

Please think carefully before buying from China. I'm bridesmaid for my best friend in May and the dresses arrived and were nothing like pictured and described. The only thing that was right was the colour. We have luckily managed to get sorted with different dresses but she is now stuck with the ones from China as it is costing more to send them back than they were to buy!

It's not China it's America but www.ieiebridal.com is where I got my wedding dress from!!! They make to measure and have an etsy page too

This is why Uk high street bridal shops are going bust. It's a special day. Leave it to the experts in your home town

I've used calia dresses on amazon and the quality is fantastic just small sizing. The returns is really easy and you have the amazon guarantee

We had my sisters bridesmaid dress made in China but we were actually out there at the time visiting my sis as she lived in Shanghai for a while. We showed the seamstress at the market the dress on Pinterest and then chose the material and it was amazing. Just what we wanted and got so many compliments. They used a lot of extra material in the skirt and it cost us £85 whereas anything similar in the UK would be a lot more. Good luck xx

I brought my 2 bridesmaid dresses on EBay, they come yesterday and they're absolutely beautiful! The only alteration they both need is the length as they're a bit long, other than that they're perfect, £26.50 each! Saw exactly the same one in a shop near me and it was £185! xx

There is a shop called ys dress (on Facebook) check them out they are reasonable and all my girls dresses fit and are beautiful for a fraction of the high street price x
