I spent several years working abroad as a private nanny. Spending time with various families in popular holiday resorts whilst working alongside some reputable companies. Some countries included being in Portugal, Switzerland and in a famous ski resort in the French Alps. My role varied with each company, but mainly all focused on ensuring safety procedures were followed and planning and arranging fun and exciting activities to children of all age ranges. Before travelling, I worked as Learning Mentor in a mainstream primary school. My role was to work with all children ages between 5-11years, teaching circle times, building strong relationships, encouraging self esteem, enforcing positive reinforcement, helping children express their emotions in a positive way, behaviour management and generally being a listening ear. I helped support children through various stages of their lives including helping children in care, bereavement, supporting young people who have been in trauma, children who have been abused, bullying, behaviour management, liaising with other professionals, writing reports, working alongside teachers/senior staff members and other outside practitioners.
