sk8rpunkbarbie that sounds great.... the bouquets need to be just roses ideally I think, maybe one or two other complementing flowers. I think my bouquet will be red and the bms ivory. For table displays i want something tall and roses in there somewhere but just need to add others to bulk it out a bit otherwise it will be tall but a little on the think side if i just stick to roses. we got told the florist wont do red and white together but will do sperarate pieces... something to do with blood and bandages which is proving to be a pain.

i dont know but they are refusing... spoke to the manager in my dress store too and she said I will struggle to find a florist that will put red and white together. awkward so now having to make sure that flowers are now entirely white or entirely red... oh but they will let me put red berries in white roses... isnt that red and white???? banging head

Where i used to work the boss/owner HATES doing red and white together for wedding fairs thing is its very popular! Diane my friend still does them lol she makes the bqs anyways so she does red and white! If you want the white in suzky you can have gypsyphillia in sparadically love that word :p and then its not ott white and red :)

Hmmm do you want tall table arrangements or something elegant dainty and different? As a 5 rose arrange ment could be the thing for you :)
Bah ok didnt work lol but you get idea 5 roses at 5 diff heights in oasis foam wrapped in cello so you cant see the foam ties with ribbon with ribbon ties to heighest rose and swirled through the other roses and into the foam so basically think of a flower pot effect :"

Kylee you can get red alstromeria, its like a mini lilly, red gerbra, gloriosa lillies but there are pricey!! Ill get together a list for you :) maybe slight delay as my engagement do on sun and i have back log of stuff for this thread lol and my engagement!

You could always get away with mixing the 2 :) one table one one another BUT the martini glasses make sure the price includes rental of the glasses and like my underwaters ones they can range from 25 to 60 my u water ones are 70 each but include 12 refundable deposit :)

Lol i know the feeling! Sis in law to be getting married in feb same yr but at min ( even tho we dont get on id never wish this on her) her filtb is basically dying and they arent coming to engagement now as hes not expected to make it to sunday :( so thats the 3rd funeral of the yr prob now :( but im still looking forward to my day on sun :)

Wow, your school holidays are nearly over, my school hasn't even broken up yet! We're at school until this Friday, it has been a long term....! I've still no idea what kind of flowers I want, I met two nice local florists at the weekend though so I think I'll go and see them soon and see what prices they can offer etc.

This year, loads of LAs have had different hols. I finished on Friday - off for two weeks, in for three days, off for the Monday and back in until June.
Makes up for the 58+ hours I work every week... :o)

We finish 22nd July too, well actually 21st now as we're missing the royal wedding bank holiday so we get the extra day back then. Which is handy as I'm moving to Switzerland to live with H2B the following week so it is extra packing time!

went for a mini consultation with my florist on saturday and have decided on a small cascading bouquet with ivory roses, cala lillies, oriental lillies, some folliage and blue diamontes 3 wrist corsages for adult BMs, 2 wrist corsages for FGs, 3 ivory rose button holes and 1 cala lilly button hole all on magnets, and possibly 2 corsages for the mothers (ivory roses i think) also on magnets.
waiting for the quote from her, but how much would you reckon this should cost about - are all of these flowers available in October?

Can I just ask if this is a UK average? Coz almost all the florists in the Blackpool area that have been on show in local fayres have handtied bridal bouquets in the range £45 - 90, with shower bouquets going up to £125. So are we just cheap and nasty here in the NW?
(haven't checked online florist prices)

sk8erpunkbarbie Thank you so much for this post. I have a meeting with the florist on Saturday but I have no idea at all costs etc so don't want to be ripped off. I am of the mentality that I will pay extra for quality but expensive quotes don't always mean the best. This is the one thing that has my head really baffled about what I want and need on the day x

This is a great post, so glad my flowers are included in the package price though and that the chapel allows red and white, as that is what i've decided to go with (until i change my mind - again) Cannot believe some of you have paid so much for flowers, i'm having palpatations just thinking about the cost. One bride has spent the same on her flowers as i have on my whole package......lol x

I payed £70 for my bouquet, 2 bridesmaids bouquets, 1 flower girl bouquet and 4 button holes. :) I love my florist, I could have kissed her when she told me the quote! :)

im hoping that mine wont cost as much!! we are getting rys aunty vicky to sort ours as she used to work in a florist so has connections lol so im really hoping that we wont have to spend loads although i have budgeted 350 for my bouquet, 6 bm bouquets and 8 buttonholes plus 2 mothers corsages and 2 thank you bouquets for the mums too and if there enough left over maybe a throw bouquet too as i want to keep mine x
